Before you change anything
Note platform and store, CPU, graphics card, driver version, the exact error text and the last successful step. Server problems also include time and server name.
With this information you can track every test and later make a usable support request.
Update: Patch 1.2 is Live
Status 24. August 2026: Patch 1.2 was released on 21. August releases and bundles more than 500 corrections and improvements. This includes specific stability, input, map and display fixes. After the update, you should first remove old start parameters and workarounds, play an unchanged test round and only continue to deal with reproducible problems individually.
- Xbox: A freeze while driving has been fixed.
- PlayStation 5: Langsame Helikopter-Drehungen wurden stabilisiert.
- PC and console: The 3D tactical map received performance improvements.
- Server: A specific NVA tunnel crash cause has been fixed.
- PC: Fixed a boot crash by clicking very quickly.
Patch 1.2 is not proof that every possible cause of the crash has been eliminated. Logs, reproducible steps and a test without old tweaks therefore remain important.
AMD-GPU: crashes and GPU crash dumps
Fallback after patch 1.2: First, remove old start parameters and test unchanged. Only in the case of still reproducible AMD crashes, you work through the following variants individually.
- Open in Steam Hell Let Loose: Vietnam → Characteristics → General → Starting Options.
- Enter the following DX12 line.
- Start the game and set up the graphics preset Hoch.
- Open AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition and disable the In-game overlay.
- Completely restart the game and test a complete round.
-dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=systemIf DX12 does not help, remove the row completely and test the DX11 variant instead:
-dx11 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=systemVerwende niemals beide Varianten gleichzeitig. DX11 prevented further crashes in individual players, but could significantly worsen the frame rate. After a confirmed hotfix, you should remove the start options again.
PC: Game does not start or close immediately
Documented by: official hints and concrete community success messages; not reproducible on every system.
- At NVIDIA, install the latest graphics driver available and restart Windows. An affected NVIDIA system started again afterwards.
- If the launch crash continues, deactivate Steam → Features → General The Steam Overlay for the game. Affected players confirmed this step as successful.
- If you have participated in the crossplay playtest, set the video settings to default once. The development team recommends this recalibration for the release build.
Don’t take on foreign configuration files, registry patches, or GPU profiles. For these interventions, a sufficient and reproducible basis for success is missing.
Server full or “Places reserved for VIP”
Documented by: offizieller Launch-Workaround.
The server browser can still display free seats, although the server is already full when the connection is set up. The displayed VIP message can therefore be misleading.
- Activate in the server browser Hide full servers.
- Choose an official or community server with significantly more free capacity. The development team recommends a maximum of about 50 players at launch.
- Do not constantly repeat the join on the same almost full server, but test a different entry.
A VIP purchase does not repair an outdated capacity entry in the server browser.
Role locked or tutorial blocked
The general introductory tutorial can be used with Esc skip. For Squad Leader and Commander On the other hand, you must first complete the corresponding role tutorial. This block is provided and no account error.
If a tutorial loses its progress or does not let it end, document the error. Tutorial issues are officially investigated; a reliable local fix is currently unconfirmed.
Voice Chat and Audio
Distorted or robotic voices in proximity chat are caused by EOS voice integration, according to the development team. Even longer audio outages on PS5 and problems with directional audio are confirmed as launch errors.
Currently, there is no reliable local fix for these symptoms. Therefore, do not delete game data and do not change the router, DNS or account on suspicion.
Check the latest launch status and report the platform, server, time and the affected voice channel to support.
What tips we deliberately do not recommend
- Unconfirmed registry changes
- blanket deletion of game or configuration folders
- Switching VPN or DNS without a specific network finding
- Complete new installation as a first step
- Overclocking or underclocking of the graphics card
- foreign GPU profiles or tools of unknown origin
Starting Easy Anti-Cheat permanently as an administrator also remains outside: The tip helped individual test players, but caused a starting loop for others. Thus, it is not safe and reproducible enough.
Properly prepare support request
If no proven solution helps, don’t send a list of random changes. A usable message contains platform, hardware, driver, store, exact error text, time, server name and the individually tested steps.

Frequently Asked Questions About Troubleshooting
Welche Steam-Startoption soll ich zuerst testen?
After patch 1.2, test first without a launch option. If the AMD crash remains reproducible, test the DX12 line; DX11 is only the alternative. Never use both at the same time.
What helps against robotic voices?
Currently, no reliably confirmed local fix is known. The problem, according to the development team, is the EOS voice integration.
Why is there something about VIP places when joining?
The server may already be full, although the list still shows free seats. Choose another server with significantly more free capacity.
Should I reinstall the game?
Not as a first step. For the known launch problems, there are more targeted, confirmed workarounds; a new installation without a specific finding usually only takes time.
How do I know if the problem is on the server or on my own PC?
First, check the public server status and ask fellow players if they see the same error. If it only affects you, local files, drivers and settings are more likely.
Should I have the game files checked?
Yes. File verification is a useful early step, especially after a cancelled update or if assets and cards are not loading correctly.
What information helps support?
Make a note of time, error message, map, server name and the steps already tested. Screenshots or short log excerpts help, provided they do not contain access data.
Is a complete new installation always necessary?
No. Start with cache, file verification, drivers, and known configuration issues. A new installation only makes sense if the targeted steps do not bring success.
