After the start of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Developer Expression Games focuses on the coming months. The first roadmap promises new battlefields, additional weapons, authentic vehicles and a system for organized gaming communities. At the same time, technology, stability and play comfort are to be continuously improved.
Update 1.5 bringt zwei gefragte Gewehre
Update 1.5 is scheduled for September 2026. The focus is on two weapons that many players have wanted since the release: The US forces will receive the M14, while the North Vietnamese army will be able to disengage in the future with the Type 56 SKS.
In this way, the studio not only expands the available arsenal, but also reacts directly to feedback from the community.

The Huey gets an authentic upgrade
Another highlight is the Bell UH-1 Iroquois, better known as “Huey”. The legendary helicopter is one of the most famous symbols of the Vietnam War. Thanks to an official license agreement with Bell, the existing helicopter models will be revised and the historical model will be presented more accurately in the future.
The planned radio function is likely to be particularly atmospheric: The co-pilot should be able to play contemporary music during the flight. This is not only heard by the crew, but is also transmitted to the outside world. If several Hueys fly simultaneously across the battlefield, their radios are even synchronized - just as if they were all receiving the same radio station.
If you want to play without music or avoid copyright problems with streams and videos, you can reduce the volume or mute the radio completely.
Update 2.0: The Battle of Khe Sanh
Update 2.0 introduces the first new battlefield: Khe Sanh. The map should clearly differ visually and playfully from the previous locations and offer both sides new tactical challenges.
At the same time, the American Group is being enlarged. With the accession of Australian and New Zealand entities, this creates the new faction “US & Allies”. In the joint arsenal and barracks, players will find equipment and personalization options from the USA as well as the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, or ANZAC for short.
Three new weapons accompany the expansion:
- The semi-automatic L1A1 SLR for medium-range combat
- The F1 submachine gun for close combat
- The L16A1 mortar for fire support at medium and greater distances
However, there should be restrictions on the composition of certain weapons and equipment so that the respective units remain historically credible.
Update 3.0 leads to the marshes of Rung Sat
The third major update expands the game with the map Rung Sat. Instead of fortified positions around Khe Sanh, players expect marshes, rivers and dense jungles. How exactly the terrain affects movements, lines of sight and vehicle battles, the studio would like to present at a later date.
In addition, both sides receive armored crew transporters. The new APCs are intended to move troops faster across the battlefield and thus open up additional tactical possibilities.
The arsenal of weapons also continues to grow. The NVA gets the MAT-49, an originally French submachine gun that was converted for Soviet 7.62 mm Tokarev ammunition. In addition, there is the semi-automatic sniper rifle SVD Dragunov.
On the part of the Allies, the Stoner 63 and a variant of the M14 with scope appear. Along with the Stoner 63, the Navy SEALs and the Green Berets will also be integrated into the game.
Battalions: more support for clans
Away from the classic content updates, Expression Games is working on “Battalions”. The new system is mainly aimed at clans and organized communities.
In the first version, players should be able to create permanent groups, track statistics, progress together and unlock content. In addition, it is planned to enter servers together with other members of your own battalion.
In the long term, this should create a central point of contact through which communities can organize themselves and build their own identity in the game. The first publication is only the foundation. Further functions are to be developed together with the community.
Technology remains a central construction site
While new maps and weapons are in the spotlight, the developers emphasize that optimization and troubleshooting remain top priorities. Performance, stability, image quality and overall game convenience will be gradually improved on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
This work is not exclusively tied to the major updates. In addition, smaller patches and hotfixes are provided in order to solve urgent problems faster.
An ambitious roadmap for the rest of the year
With two new maps, numerous weapons, armored crew transporters, the authentically revamped Huey and the Battalion system, the development team has a lot to do for the remaining months of the year.
Particularly interesting is the mix of new content and structural improvements. While Khe Sanh and Rung Sat provide variety on the battlefield, battalions could change the interaction of organized groups in the long term. The decisive factor, however, will be whether the studio at the same time succeeds in consistently addressing the technical weaknesses of the game.
The roadmap is only the beginning: In 2027 and beyond, Expression Games wants to react to community feedback and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam kontinuierlich ausbauen.
